Commercial Silos

PSSILO Commercial Flat Bottom Silos are designed for high-capacity, long-term storage of wheat, corn, barley and other free-flowing grains.

Each silo is engineered according to the required storage capacity, stored product, bulk density and project location. This allows the silo structure and supporting systems to be configured according to the actual operating and site conditions of each project.

ENGINEERING & STRUCTURE

The structural requirements of a silo depend on its dimensions, stored-product loads and local wind and snow conditions. For this reason, PSSILO performs project-specific structural calculations in accordance with applicable ANSI/ASAE and Eurocode requirements.

PSSILO Flat Bottom Silos use S350GD+ high-strength structural steel sidewall sheets. The silo body, vertical stiffeners and structural connections are selected and dimensioned according to the calculated loads, providing reinforcement where it is required rather than applying the same structural configuration to every project.

CORROSION PROTECTION

Commercial grain silos remain exposed to outdoor conditions throughout their service life. Depending on project requirements, PSSILO silo sidewalls are available with Z350, Z450 or Z600 g/m² galvanized coating options, allowing the corrosion-protection level to be selected according to the operating environment.

Geomet 321A coated bolts, EPDM washers and sealing strips are used at connection points to support reliable assembly and help limit the penetration of water and moisture.

CAPACITY & DESIGN

PSSILO Commercial Flat Bottom Silos are available in diameters from 4.57 m to 32.00 m, with storage capacities ranging from 50 to 25,000 tons.

Final capacity is determined according to silo dimensions and the bulk density of the stored product. Since wheat, corn, barley and other grains have different densities, each silo is selected according to the actual product and required storage capacity.
The silo features a 30° roof slope, with the roof structure designed according to specified project loads, including wind and snow loads. Protected ventilation chimneys, a standard roof manhole and a double-sided access gate support ventilation, inspection and maintenance.

COMPLETE STORAGE SYSTEM

A commercial silo is only one part of an efficient grain storage facility. Filling, conveying, aeration, monitoring and discharge systems must operate together at the required capacity.
Depending on project requirements, PSSILO silos can be integrated with aeration systems, temperature and level monitoring, sweep augers, discharge systems, bucket elevators, chain and belt conveyors, dust collection systems and PLC & SCADA automation.
This allows the complete process, from grain intake and conveying to storage, monitoring and discharge, to be engineered as one integrated system.
