Sweep Augers

PSSILO Sweep Augers are designed for efficient final discharge of residual grain from flat-bottom silos after gravity discharge is completed.

Operating through a 360° rotation inside the silo, the sweep auger collects the remaining product from the silo floor and transfers it toward the central discharge point.

The system is suitable for free-flowing granular products such as wheat, maize, sunflower, rapeseed and other suitable grains and is configured according to silo diameter, storage capacity and operating requirements.

360° SILO FLOOR CLEANING

After the majority of the stored grain has been discharged by gravity, a layer of product may remain across the flat silo floor.

The Sweep Auger rotates through 360° inside the silo, progressively collecting this remaining material and conveying it toward the central discharge point.

This allows the residual product to be removed efficiently while reducing the need for manual grain handling inside the silo.

LIGHT, MEDIUM & HEAVY DUTY

PSSILO Sweep Augers are available in three configurations according to silo dimensions, capacity and operational requirements:

• Light Duty
• Medium Duty
• Heavy Duty

The appropriate configuration is selected according to silo diameter, stored product, required discharge capacity and operating conditions.

PROJECT-SPECIFIC AUGER DESIGN

Each Sweep Auger is configured according to the dimensions and operating requirements of the silo.

The screw diameter and pitch are selected according to the design requirements and required capacity.

Capacity adjustment sliders are available to provide greater control over product flow during discharge.

The robust semi-circular body provides structural support for reliable operation under demanding silo conditions.

INTEGRATED DRIVE & MOVEMENT

The screw rotation and movement of the Sweep Auger inside the silo are driven through an integrated drive system.

The auger advances across the silo floor according to the amount and distribution of remaining bulk material, allowing the system to progressively collect the residual grain.

MEDIUM & HEAVY DUTY DRIVE SYSTEM

Medium and Heavy Duty Sweep Augers incorporate additional drive and movement features for demanding applications.

Depending on the configuration, these include:

• Actuation system with brake and pads
• Mechanically adjustable travelling speed
• Rubber-coated drive wheels
• Adjustable drive wheel configuration
• Adjustable guiding wheels
• Universal-jointed shaft transmission
• Clutch system
• Anti-skid system
• Hanger housings with thrust bearings

These features provide greater control over auger movement and support reliable operation across the silo floor.

ADJUSTABLE TRAVELLING SPEED

For Medium and Heavy Duty configurations, travelling speed can be mechanically adjusted according to operating requirements.

This allows the movement of the Sweep Auger to be adapted to the amount of grain remaining inside the silo and the required discharge conditions.

DRIVE & GUIDING WHEELS

Rubber-coated drive wheels support movement of the Sweep Auger across the silo floor.

The drive and guiding wheel assemblies can be adjusted according to the floor surface and operating conditions, supporting controlled movement during the 360° sweeping process.

Motion is transferred to the guiding wheels through a universal-jointed shaft system.

CLUTCH & ANTI-SKID SYSTEM

Medium and Heavy Duty Sweep Augers incorporate clutch and anti-skid features designed to support controlled movement during operation.

These systems help maintain reliable traction and movement as the auger progresses through different levels of remaining grain inside the silo.

DURABLE CONSTRUCTION

PSSILO Sweep Augers are manufactured with a robust structure suitable for grain storage applications.

Standard production can be supplied in painted or galvanized steel according to project requirements.

A covered drive system is also available for additional protection of the drive components.

OPTIONAL UNDER-SILO DRIVE CONFIGURATION

According to project requirements, PSSILO can manufacture customized Sweep Auger configurations with the drive system positioned underneath the silo.

This provides additional flexibility when designing the complete silo discharge system according to site and operational requirements.
